Extremely rare 4.03ct Tanzanian color change Sapphire
The color palette of this gem starts rich and smokey, and you will see a beautiful gray hue. But that all changes when the lighting changes. Moving through greens and reddish browns, it displays color variations similar to alexandrite, mixing the colors depending on the light source. On top of all of this, this extremely rare example also fluoresces under UV light like a ruby -as seen in the last three photos. It was cut from pure untreated Tanzanian sapphire, and is all natural. Weighing over four carats and measuring a whopping 9.6mm x 8.0mm x 5.5mm, not only is its color unique but also its size. And with a Mohs hardness rating of 9 out of 10, this very unique sapphire is as durable as it is beautiful, and an excellent choice for everyday wear, or adding to any private or professional collection.
*All of the photographs are of the same sapphire. The only change was mixes of incandescent and fluorescent lighting (normal lighting), with the last 3 photos showing the effect of UV lighting (Black light) at different distances.
