This is an interesting bust honoring the majestic bear. It composes the bear so that it’s essence is entwined with that of nature; of the fallen trees, of the water-smoothed pebbles, it is paws carry over, of the river. It shows the bear had just caught a fish that wriggles hopelessly in it is jaws. The wet fur of the bear runs down in his neck in an abstract melt into the trunk of a tree, showing it is integration to it is the natural domain. The symbolic beliefs of the bear totem signify primal power, motherhood, cunning, healing, gentle strength, dreaming, sovereignty, intuition married with instinct, nurture, and protection. The handmade bronze sculpture was cast using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for conservation. It is mounted upon a marble base.
