Gorgeous 1.88ct unheated yellow Andesine
Sourced from the congo, this exotic gemstone exhibits a bright yellow hue with light saturation giving its color a real pop. Yellow andesine ( also referred to as labradorite-andesine or andesine-labradorite ) is relatively new to the gemstone market, and is an uncommon form of feldspar, making it an exciting addition to any collection. It enjoyed a bit of infamy in the early 2000's as red and orange varieties of this gem were sold as natural after yellow andesine was diffused with copper to produce the color. They were so convincing that they even fooled the Gem Institute of America! This example, however is all natural, with no treatment. It measures 9.14mm x 7.6mm x 4.8mm, and is well cut producing glittering flashing.
Mohs hardness rating: 6 out of 10.
Gems come with complimentary gem jars for display and protection, size permitting. All treatments are disclosed*, and all weights and sizes are approximate.
