One of the rarer obsoletes. The Bank of Singapore was founded in 1836. The date appears to be 1837. This is a guess though looking at the date under a microscope. The note is well circulated. Worth the money just for the history.
A blizzard that lasted 40 days in 1842 nearly wiped out Singapore's population; but a ship that wrecked near the area had enough food to keep the townspeople alive.
Now all that remains is sand dunes.
