Its color palette is filled with rich emerald and forest greens accented by brilliant blue green with a natural glossy luster. It measures an impressive 174.5mm x 163.0mm x 87.6mm, and weighs a whopping 5.94 pounds! Malachite has a long history, from its use as a protective amulet in ancient times, to being ground for pigments for painting, to the great "Malachite Room" at the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia.
