This is such a beautiful piece. The rich green hue of this malachite is filled with demure swirling striation under a mirror grade luster that glistens over its smooth cabochon cut. It has incredible size, measuring 58.1mm x 37mm x 6.4mm, and is untreated. Malachite has a long history, from its use as a protective amulet in ancient times, to being ground for pigments for painting, to the great "Malachite Room" at the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia, this gemstone has been admired for its unique green color palette for generations.
