What we have here is a collectors piece sourced from Afganistan. Aragonite is loved by collectors because of the many shapes it takes when forming crystal structures. It's crystalography reads like a who's who of shape formations, and oddly enough, heating aragonite to over 400C will convert it into calcite. It is also considered to soft for practicle setting and difficult to facet making it a true collectors gem. This example has a unique and amazing blue green hue under a vitreous luster, and measures 9mm x 7.5mm x 5.5mm. Untreated.
