This is a beautiful etching, after Rembrandt, by master engraver Amand Durand. Titled “Christ and the Woman of Samaria: Among the Ruins” (year of original 1634).
Signed and dated in the plate. Etching image size is 5.5″ x 5″. Paper with Border measures 12.5″ x 11″. On Somerset paper.
This etching is embossed with the Amand Durand stamp. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Reference #71 according to the British Catalogue, circa 1797, is a hand pulled-ETCHING from the AUTHENTIC & Original copper Rembrandt plates by Armand-Durand (1831-1905) overseen by Art World Industries, inc.
This piece is in excellent condition, and has never been framed.
