Lot Details
Known as one of the rarest gems in the world, and with only 2.5 percent of gem grade Tsavorite garnets mined in the world being over 2 carats, this large solitaire is in a class all its own. And its bright clover green hue is unique in the gem world, with few other gemtypes able to match it in vibrancy and color. It has full saturation with smoky clarity that really holds the light giving it an internal glow, and delicate pops of smoldering flashing. It measures an impressive 8.5mm x 8.5mm x 5.3mm, and is finished with a glistening superior luster. This piece was sourced from Tanzania, where its host stone deposits were formed in the Neoproterozoic era between 1,000 to 541 million years ago before the super continent Rodinia broke into seperate land masses.
