This Bronze Sculpture honors the memory of Austrian composer Johann Strauss 1804-1849. He was one of Europes leading conductors and composers of over 300 works of dance music and establishing his reputation as a composer of Viennese waltzes. Not only fathering music he bore a son, J. Strauss Jr. October 25, 1825 - June 3, 1899. Who carried his name and musical talent. He is brilliantly cast in his elegant likeness. His face is cast down as he enigmatically smiles upon his musings. He sports an evening coat and a finely detailed bow tie. His Bronze plinth bears his eternal name. J. Strauss was cast using the archaic methods of lost wax casting and finished with a brown patina stain and stand upon a marble base. Bronze Dimensions with Marble Base: Height 9 X Width 4 inches.
