The Sphinx I’ll bet you’ve heard of her! She was the riddle who was part woman part lion. She killed anyone who couldn’t answer her riddles, but wouldn’t let anyone through the gates she stood in front of unless they could (answer her riddle that is). When Oedipus finally did, Sphinx stopped terrorizing Thebes and went away. She was the daughter of Echidna (see above). Sphinx means Throttler. The bronze is finished in a dark brown polish enhancing the beauty of the art. Her skin tones with a golden bronze finish, Her voluptuous figure is accented by her lovely face is graced with her long hair tresses. This sculpture was crafted using the lost wax method and rests on a marble base. Bronze Dimensions with Marble Base: Height 12 X Width 7 inches. Weight: 9 LBS.
