The jockey and horse, a team of speed, trot to the starting line to prepare for the race. The horse walks by elegantly with his left foreleg raised while the jockey seems to be captured in a moment of reflection perhaps reviewing the race with a certainly excited anxiousness. This bronze sculpture was molded using the age-old method of lost wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation and mounted upon a marble base.
