Sourced from Winza, Tanzania, this exotic ruby features an incredible red violet hue, and notice we said red violet and not violet red. That's because in this example, the violet color is the dominant hue, while the red sits comfortably as the undertone. And a little bit of pink when you hold it to the light. That already makes this ruby unique, but the real characteristic that makes this piece stand out, is its delicate silvery pink sheen. Well, that and its size, because its a huge ruby. And the unique color. Alright, there are plenty of reasons for this ruby to stand out, but the silvery pink sheen is our favorite. And that's from trace amounts of proustite, a mineral that is naturally present in the development of select rubies and sapphires that contains real silver, giving it a gorgeous metallic sheen. It has fantastic size measuring 18mm x 14.1mm x 6.7mm giving this ruby center stone a low profile cut so it is perfect perfect for setting, and a semi translucent body that diffuses the light giving it a glowing effect.
