Stormy! Midnight blue Sapphire weighing 3.90 carats!

Looking at this sapphire, you can almost hear the thunder roll across the sky.  It presents a silky blue black resting color with a body that is fully opaque EXCEPT for the rim on just over half the gemstone. What this does is when held to the light, you can actually see the octagonal crystal growth pattern of the sapphire outlined by its opaque parts! It's pretty awesome. You can actually catch a glimpse of this in the video. And if that wasn't enough, nature added proustite during its development, a mineral that has actual silver in it, giving it a lightning-esque silver sheen! This unique piece has fantastic size measuring 11.1mm x 9.4mm x 4.4mm, and was heated only with no dyes or fillers! Sourced from Mozambique.
