Very special Camille Pissarro lithograph on chine appliqué on wove paper. This work is signed in pencil by Camille Pissarro and Georges Thornley and is from the limited edition of 108. Pissarro learned of French lithographer Georges Thornley who was known for his prodigious technique and sensitivity with each print. The artist had witnessed Thornley’s previous joint ventures with Theo Van Gogh, brother to Vincent, and Edgar Degas. He decided to approach Thornley, who offered his cooperation in producing a series of plates based on Pissarro’s drawings. A portfolio was designed with twenty-five lithographs, executed by Thornley after Pissarro’s drawings, in an edition size of 108 with the signatures of each artist. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Comes professionally framed and ready to hang. Artwork is obtained from various contracts or estates, and occasionally the frame may contain minor dents or scratches. Condition of frames is not guaranteed.
