This is an amazing collectors opal! It has a beautiful pearlescent body color and luster with a dusting of red, orange, green, and yellow play of color that moves between a twinkling star pattern and full on floral flashing depending on the lighting. Since opals have less density than other gems you get an impressive size to weight ratio, and when you add the low domed cabochon cut of this piece you end up with substantial size that punches well out of its weight class, measuring 14.8mm x 7.5mm x 2.7mm.
