Grossular garnet gets its name from the Latin grossularia, from which we derive gooseberry in modern English. This rare type of garnet typically has hints of green just like its namesake fruit. This stunning example features a rich yellow hue with just the slight hint of green in its undertone that really makes its color pop! It has an oval cut with tight faceting giving it brilliant confetti flashing, and is covered by a vitreous luster. The rare color palette of this gem combined with its cut and size and pristine VS clarity makes this highly unique garnet a must for collectors and connoisseurs. It measures 7mm x 6mm x 4.3mm, and is untreated. Sourced from Mali.
