Handmade semi antique four seasons Persian Bakhtiari rug. Size 8.4x5.5 feet, made of fine quality lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation, all natural vegetable dye, incorporating a beautiful and very popular 'four seasons' design and finished off beautifully with an intricate floral border. Hand woven by Bakhtiari nomadic tribes of western Iran. The approximate year of origin: 1975-1985. Bakhtiari is an ancient southwestern Iranian tribe. Bakhtiaris were nomaidc pastoralists and weaving rugs was and still is a unique way of expression and telling stories.
