This is a beautiful etching, after Rembrandt, by master engraver Amand Durand. Titled “BEGGARS RECEIVING ALMS” (year of original 1648).
Signed and dated in the plate. Measurements: image size is 7″ x 5.5″ on 14″ x 11″ Somerset paper. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Reference #176 according to the British Catalogue, circa 1797, is a hand pulled-ETCHING from the AUTHENTIC & Original copper Rembrandt plates by Armand-Durand (1831-1905) overseen by Art World Industries, inc.
Signed and dated in the plate. This etching bears an Amand Durand embossed blind stamp chopmark.
This subject is in excellent condition, and has never been framed. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
