Details: The L’Instant Taittinger Poster often gets mistaken for being an older poster than it actually is. Printed in 1989, Taittinger advertisers were aiming for a 1940’s glamour Hollywood feel when they designed an initial mock-up of a beautiful model with long black gloves, mermaid-cut gown, and dark sunglasses, standing behind a bubbling flute of champagne. After studying their initial design, the team deemed the piece ‘too modern.’ Editing out the sunglasses, they added the piercing and recognizable eyes of Grace Kelly, a decision that proved to be a success as this modern poster now stands as one of the classics.
