This is a superb collectors opal. The play of color is a swirling non-stop floral pattern that even glows in low light. The snow white body color of this piece smolders in a full spectrum of colors from fluorescent oranges, reds and yellows to brilliant greens, and a touches of blue. You can easily observe the colors of this opal blend and change from red to orange to yellow, to green when you move it. Not only is this piece a spectacular opal, but it also has huge size, measuring 21.3mm x 20.5mm x 10.5mm, and it is covered by a pearlescent superior luster. The pictures are a pale representation of this piece, its light return is much stronger in person. Sourced from Welo, Ethiopia. Unheated.
