This is a superb collectors opal. The play of color is a swirling non-stop disco pattern that even glows in low light. The snow white body color of this piece smolders in a full spectrum of colors from fluorescent oranges reds and yellows to brilliant greens, and a touches of blue. You can easily observe the full spectrum of colors popping and flashing. Not only is this piece a premium grade opal, but it also has substantial size, measuring 17mm x 17mm x 6mm, and it is covered by a pearlescent superior luster. The pictures are a pale representation of this piece, its light return is much stronger in person. Sourced from Welo, Ethiopia. Unheated.
