The wild boar looks out at the beholder free and defiant coming out of the forest edge to forage for food in the late afternoon. From head to tail, his attitude demonstrates bold alertness to his surroundings. Exquisite detail went into the texture of the fur which is usually a combination of stiff bristles and fine fur. His tucks, that continuously grow. In Celtic belief, symbolizes warrior spirit, courage, leadership, and direction. He is strong, dangerous, intrepid, and difficult to kill. Boar meets enemies with nobility and courage, signifying bravery and perseverance. He is a fierce fighter, refusing to yield. This bronze sculpture was captured using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation and mounted upon a marble base.
