To meet demand, by 1875 they had organized rug weaving workshops in and around the town of Arak, formerly known as Sultan-Abad in western Persia. By 1883 western companies had also established their own presence in the town of Ferahan in particular. ziegler and company was the first and the most important, producing rugs for many years to come with western tastes in mind. This charming Ferahan is a perfect example of rugs produced by Ziegler and company around the later part of 19th century in the town of Ferahan. This is a true museum quality piece in mint condition.
