Fascinating handmade semi antique tribal Luri rug. Size 4.7x8.8 feet, made of 100% handspun wool pile on cotton foundation. A wonderful tribal Luri design graces this lovely rug. Luri rugs are among the most impressive tribal Persian styles. Traditionally featuring geometric patterns, Luri rugs used rich, strong colors to highlight the stylized tribal, animal, and floral patterns. The saturated palette heightens the dynamic aesthetic of these unique tribal works of art, reflecting the skill and creativity of the artisan. handwoven by nomadic weavers in the Zagros Mountains, Iran. The approximate year of origin: 1970-1980. The art of weaving is reverently passed on from mother to daughter with the weaving of these rugs taking place in individual family homes.
