Atlas, the primordial Titan in Greek mythology, is seen in his ancient duty of supporting the heavens. Atlas was punished to stand a the western edge of Gaia the Earth and to hold up Uranus the Sky on his shoulders after losing in the waged war of the Titans against the Olympians. He holds the celestial spheres on his back as he struggles under the weight of the burden. The handmade Bronze Sculpture rich in Greek mythology was molded using the archaic method of lost wax casting and stained with a brown patina stain for perpetuation and is mounted upon a marble base.
