This is a beautiful etching, after Rembrandt, by master engraver Amand Durand. Titled “THE ANGEL APPEARING TO THE SHEPHERDS” (year of original 1634).
Etching image size is 10″ x 9″. Paper with Border measures 18″ x 15″. Signed and illegibly dated in the Plate. On Somerset paper. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Ref. #44 according to the British Catalogue, circa 1797, is a hand pulled-ETCHING from the AUTHENTIC & Original copper Rembrandt plates by Armand-Durand (1831-1905) overseen by Art World Industries, inc.
This piece is in excellent condition, and has never been framed.
