1923 $1 Silver Certificate, Friedberg 237, bearing the Speelman/White signatures and a bold blue Treasury seal. This classic “Horseblanket” large-size note features the familiar portrait of George Washington and ornate engraving typical of early 20th-century U.S. currency. The serial number Y22847686D is clearly printed, and the blue seal and serials retain solid color. Paper remains intact with no major structural defects. A strong collector example of the final large-size $1 Silver Certificate issue. Large-size notes like this continue to be a cornerstone for collectors of classic U.S. paper money.

  • Circulated example

  • Noticeable vertical center fold

  • Light additional handling folds

  • Minor surface soiling consistent with circulation

  • Light pencil/graphite marks visible on both sides

  • Edges appear intact with no major tears

  • Corners show light rounding

  • Good overall eye appeal for the grade

Overall grade estimate: Very Fine (VF) range, possibly VF 25–30 depending on in-hand inspection.
