This gem was cut from pure ruby sourced from Winza, Tanzania, and has received no treatments. It has gorgeous red hue is tempered with a well blended violet undertone with a touch of pink for vibrancy. But this piece also has traces of proustite, a natural mineral that develops with choice rubies and sapphires that contains real silver, giving it a light metallic sheen to go with its superior luster. And all of this through a translucent body. It measures an impressive 10mm x 7.5mm x 4.6mm, and has a Mohs hardness rating of 9 out of 10.
