This, ladies and gentlemen, is an impressive gemstone. And even though it is extremely large for a gemstone, the first thing you'll notice is the color. Wow. Do to this opal types unique amorphous crystal structure, its bi-colored hue takes on a life of its own. The gold portions of this gem carry vibrant orange undertones that heavily influence their flashing, while its smoky white portions show touches of pink in their flashing. But this all changes when the gem is moved. The colors have a liquid relationship, flowing in and out of each other creating a beautiful instability in its color palette. The color balance is always shifting, and at some angles the white disappears entirely. And the whole display is filled with a mix of glittering and smoldering flashing. And due to its natural low density, it measures a whopping 24.1mm x 24.1mm x 12.7mm, so will notice the size, just after the color. Sourced from Mexico. Untreated!
