Full cover flashing! 2.26ct Welo Black Opal

The silky onyx black hue of this opal is full and complete, creating the perfect background for its impressive full body flashing. Its play of color rolls across its surface, moving in waves of color that move in and out of each other, changing from bright to smoldering, rich to vibrant,green to red, gold to orange in a non stop display. You can easily observe its strong mix of chaff and floral patterns that glow much brighter in hand. It measures 12.8mm x 8.1mm x 5.1mm, and has a smooth cabochon cut that glistens under its liquid luster. Although heating is a standard treatment for black opals, this rare example is unheated.
